Welcome and bonjour! I am Webly, a Haitian born mom and fitness enthusiast. I started this blog because I wanted to write about my weight loss journey, my ups and downs, Aha! moments and the food that I enjoy.
After having my son, Horizon, and finding out I was 238 pounds with border line high cholesterol, I was devastated because that was the biggest I ever was in my entire life. Call it baby fat, it wasn’t because I did lose 30 pounds post pregnancy, but during my pregnancy it was open season for any food and peanut butter jelly sandwich every night in front of the television before bed. I was left with more weight than I could bare. I was very uncomfortable with the person in the mirror, uncomfortable in my skin and mostly disappointed for not taking better care of my health.
My son coming into my life changed everything. You know how kids do as you do and not as you say? I wanted to be a role model for my son and change my family tree for good. I embarked on a journey to reclaim my body. After 1 year 1/2 I lost 138 pounds. Through a series of successes and failures I became inspired to get certified as a personal trainer and get real with other women about the weight loss journey. It is very difficult to relate to someone in a magazine and from experience I know the stories can be very misleading as well as the pictures. The fictitious reality that we are bombarded with inspired me to start a blog and write from my heart.
In my fitness journey, I was and continue to be extremely blessed. Today I am a growing Fitness Expert
- a Certified Personal Trainer through NASM
- CPR Certified
- a Certified PILOXING instructor
- a Licensed Zumba Instructor
Many say that the sky is the limit, I disagree. The sky is the foundation where you should start, this is only the beginning for me. The most precious gift from my journey was discovering the great pleasure in serving others, making new friends and relating to other women. One of my role models, Zig Ziglar, says
“You can have everything in life that you want if you just give enough other people what they want.”
I pray that my blog will be the kind of blessing in your life that gives you a little of what you want in life.
